Tutoring Experience

I have worked with 40+ students so far and my average score bump is approximately 340 points on the SAT & 5 points on the ACT. Additionally, all my AP Physics, Chemistry, and Calculus students have secured perfect 5s thus far.

I have worked with 13 students so far and my average score bump is approximately 330 points. All my past students have scored at least a 1540/1600 on their SATs and 34 on the ACT (All first and only attempts).

Besides, I would also love to help you with your college admissions and applications in any and every way possible as I am a firm believer in the thought that knowledge only grows if it is shared! I am looking forward to helping you become an SAT/ACT test-taking expert and to motivate you to meet your potential so that you can navigate the college admissions process with aplomb!

Tutoring Approach

ACT/SAT MATH Tuition Approach

My approach is to first do a full-length mock test after which I study the student’s attempt and work towards developing a course plan for the student paying special emphasis on topics/areas that are unclear while at the same time strengthening the relatively stronger areas.

I believe in building mutual respect with my students and sharing a strong rapport that allows me to work on motivating and inspiring them to achieve their target scores and realizing their potential, not only limited to the test but also otherwise.

I like to begin each topic with the most fundamental principles pertaining to that chapter and then work my way up towards more complex applications and Higher Order Thinking Skills problems.

I try to incorporate plenty of practice time into my sessions as I understand that students have a multitude of other subjects and activities that are just as time intensive as their college entrance tests.

ACT/SAT English Tuition Approach

My approach is to first do a full-length mock test after which I study the student’s attempt and work towards developing a course plan for the student paying special emphasis on topics/areas that are unclear while at the same time strengthening the relatively stronger areas.

When tackling critical reading, I believe arriving at the perfect combination between accuracy and precision is the most critical task. I work with my students to crack the perfect time division between the time taken to read the passage and the time taken to answer the questions that follow. Each student works differently and hence it is important to understand the nuances of each student when it comes to reading comprehension. Simultaneously, I also provide my students with a list of 5000+ words that will enrich their vocabulary and help them strengthen their grasp over the English language.

As for the Writing section (Grammar), I go through an exhaustive list of concepts, which once thoroughly understood, make it extremely easy for the students to answer any question in a matter of seconds. The SAT/ACT have very similar syllabi, so a lot of the times I can teach students for both tests at the same time and that way they have the choice to take both tests and see which one gives them a better result. Some students benefit greatly from the science section in the ACT.

ACT Science Tuition Approach

My approach is to first do a full-length mock test after which I study the student’s attempt and work towards developing a course plan for the student paying special emphasis on topics/areas that are unclear while at the same time strengthening the relatively stronger areas.

With ACT science, one is basically looking at reading comprehension with a bit of scientific reasoning and extrapolation. I work with my students to lay out all the different kinds of approaches that ACT Science passages leverage and require. As someone with a background in Mechanical Engineering, I can relay any and all required concepts to my students that help them ace this section and test!
