Tutoring Experience

I have extensive experience tutoring IB and IGCSE Math and Economics, built on a foundation of seven years teaching these subjects in an international school while also tutoring students individually. My journey began during my undergraduate studies, where I worked as a university tutor and quickly developed a passion for helping others understand complex material. This early experience ignited my commitment to tutoring, and I've continued ever since, combining my teaching role with personalized tutoring sessions. Over the years, I've honed an approach that focuses on clarity and confidence-building, helping students navigate their subjects with ease and enthusiasm.

Tutoring Approach

In my tutoring sessions, I prioritize flexibility, adapting to the unique needs of each student. I begin by identifying specific areas they need assistance with and focus on solving questions as a model, guiding them through each step to show what similar problems might entail. Emphasizing clarity and directly addressing their immediate needs, I ensure our sessions are both relevant and targeted. By working through practical problems, I can quickly assess their understanding and adjust my teaching methods accordingly.

If I notice that a student struggles to grasp concepts after working through a few questions, I introduce past papers to deepen their understanding and give them a realistic sense of exam expectations. I break down the topics that challenge them most, maintaining open communication to ensure they feel supported and engaged. For additional reinforcement, I incorporate resources such as online revision websites or graphical tools like Desmos, which help make abstract concepts more visual and accessible. This approach allows students to build both their skills and confidence over time, preparing them thoroughly for exams and beyond.
