Tutoring Experience
I’ve taught IB Physics (SL/HL), IB Computer Science and IB Business Management, alongside Cambridge Pure Maths (Mechanics). My work ranges from building topics from scratch to intensive past paper practice under timed conditions. I previously ran maths support sessions in Amsterdam for HAVO and VWO students, mainly Wiskunde B, covering calculus and trigonometry. I’ve also supported students in finance and accounting modules, with many going on to pass demanding quantitative exams.
Tutoring Approach
I don’t rely on memorisation. We start by asking what the examiner is really looking for and work backwards from there. In Physics especially, I spend time on fundamentals — what friction actually represents, where energy transfers occur — so formulas make sense rather than needing to be remembered blindly. I use active recall for theory-heavy topics and regular timed questions. Students are expected to think aloud, make mistakes, and refine their reasoning step by step.
