I’m an IB History and Global Politics tutor with five years of experience teaching SL and HL. I help students prepare for essays, source questions, and Internal Assessments. My lessons focus on IB exam technique, and structuring strong answers for Papers 1, 2, and 3. Many of my students achieve 6s and 7s. I also help students plan essays and interpret IB command terms clearly in exams.

Tutoring Experience

I’ve spent the last five years tutoring IB History and IB Global Politics, supporting students in both Year 1 and Year 2. My background is in History from the University of Edinburgh, alongside postgraduate study in Learning Design and Technology. I regularly help students with IA planning, Extended Essays and exam preparation. Much of my work focuses on topics such as the World Wars, Imperial Russia and Cold War politics, with sessions adapted to each student’s learning style and exam markscheme expectations.

Tutoring Approach

I tutor IB History and IB Global Politics at both SL and HL, working mainly with Diploma students preparing for exams, IAs and Extended Essays. I studied History at the University of Edinburgh and later specialised in learning design, which shapes how I structure lessons. I enjoy working through complex topics like interwar Europe, authoritarian states and Cold War diplomacy, helping students turn their knowledge into clear, well-argued IB essays while improving source analysis and exam technique.
