Tutoring Experience

I know exactly where students can gain the most marks and can give you a focused guide on improving exam technique, as well as helping you structure your revision so you can work smarter.

For Medicine and Oxbridge mock interviews: In these sessions, I play the role of an interviewer and run structured mock interviews based on the format used by the universities the student is applying to- traditional panel interviews or Multiple Mini Interviews (MMIs).

I experienced all these styles only a year ago, having received 4/4 interview offers only a year ago and I give personalized feedback at the end of each session, as well as tips for how to perform via an online platform, should the interview take place via zoom (as mine did- you need to adapt how you speak!)

Tutoring Approach

A Levels: Whatever the student needs, whether this be revisiting a tricky topic, exam practice questions, getting ahead in school (teaching a new topic) or extending knowledge to ensure it is fully understood and you can apply it. I will likely set homework between sessions.

For University Interviews Tuition Approach: Putting you on the spot and probing your knowledge as you will be so much better prepared when your interviews come- if you are put on the spot, you will no longer be fazed! I will use real questions I was asked during my interviews (both MMI and panel style) only a year ago and will give you focussed feedback on how to improve as well as model answers to help structure your own.

For medicine, these include abstract science questions, questions assessing your knowledge about the NHS, ethical scenarios and personal questions concerning your experience and motivation to study the degree.
