Tutoring Experience
I’ve supported students in the UK and internationally with IB English A SL/HL and GCSE/IGCSE preparation. Many come to me aiming for top grades, particularly those targeting 7–9 at GCSE or 6s and 7s in IB. My experience as an examiner helps me give precise feedback on essays, coursework and exam responses. I regularly work through past papers, mark schemes and examiner reports so students understand exactly how marks are awarded and where they can gain extra credit.
Tutoring Approach
Lessons are structured but collaborative. I use model paragraphs, live essay planning and timed practice to build exam confidence. We look closely at mark scheme language and practise shaping arguments so they are analytical rather than descriptive. I tailor sessions carefully, whether a student needs to secure a pass or refine their commentary to reach the top bands. I expect students to engage actively in discussion, as strong verbal analysis usually translates into stronger written work.
