I have tutored Maths extensively both online and on campus for numerous years, initially commencing my tutoring journey in Maths whilst a postgraduate student at CSUN. I possess four degrees in mathematics and have been teaching online for Columbia Southern University since 2013. Among my distinguished and notable tutees are Byron Scott, an NBA star and coach, as well as acclaimed actors David Faustino, Ethan Hawke, and Bridget Mendler.

Tutoring Experience

I earned my B.A. and M.S. from California State University, Northridge (CSUN) and later pursued my Doctor of Arts (D.A.) from Idaho State University, graduating with a 4.0 GPA and receiving the Outstanding Graduate Student award. I further specialized in number theory while pursuing my Ph.D. at the University of Alabama, setting records by graduating in a year and becoming a Ph.D. candidate and defending my dissertation just 9 days later.

Over the years, I've had the opportunity to teach at a myriad of institutions. I spent seven years imparting knowledge on-campus at the University of Rhode Island, and I've held positions as an Online Mathematics Instructor at several prestigious institutions including Lane College, Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth, Ashland University, and Southern New Hampshire University, among others. My roles have varied from Instructional Associate at the University of Texas Arlington to Assistant Professor of Mathematics at different colleges, and I have extensively involved myself as an online Mathematics Instructor and Faculty at various universities, contributing to institutions such as the University of Maryland Global Campus and Columbia Southern University.

Beyond instructional roles, my experience includes serving as a reviewer with the AP® Course Audit and as a grader for the AP® Calculus exam. My teaching journey has seen me through different states and colleges, witnessing my transition from a Mathematics Teacher at Wallenberg High School, San Francisco, in 1996 to my current roles as an Online Mathematics Instructor at renowned universities. Whether it was my initial days as a Teaching Assistant at CSUN or my time as an Instructor at the Department of Mathematics, University of Louisiana at Lafayette, every experience has enriched my journey, allowing me to evolve in my profession while fostering a passion for number theory and mathematics education in my students.

Tutoring Approach

I show students how to do a problem. I then ask students to try one on their own. I observe and see what they know and don’t know. I then proceed to correct their errors and see that they have improved.
