Tutoring Experience

Over 6 years experience as a tutor and teacher. Private tutor and A level teacher in one-on-one tutorial college. I have helped students at A level enter top UK and US universities including the University of Cambridge, St Andrews, Bristol, New York University. I have helped students at both A level and GCSE achieve A*s in their exams. I have also home-schooled students. Experienced with SEN students.

Tutoring Approach

History of Art: I tutor a vast spectrum of historical periods and I specialise in 20th century Modernism, the Italian Renaissance and visual analysis. At A level I teach the current Edexcel syllabus, covering the 2 papers in rigorous detail. My classes are structured around analysis of artworks, periods and themes using Powerpoint slides, analysis of art historical texts and detailed dicussions of my students’ essays.

French: at both GCSE and A level my lessons are structured around essential grammar and the comprehensive covering of receptive and productive skills (listening, reading, writing, speaking). At A level I cover the works of literature and film of the syllabus. I go above and beyond the syllabus and tailor lesson content to specific cultural and linguistic interests of my students.
