Tutoring Experience

Hello, I'm an experienced geography teacher with over seven years of classroom experience. I've taught in various schools in the United Kingdom, both public and private, and I'm currently working at an international school in Singapore.

Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of teaching students from different backgrounds and achievement levels. This experience has given me a good understanding of the diverse needs and perspectives of students.
I'm familiar with various curricula, including GCSE (AQA and Eduquas), A Level (OCR and Cambridge International), and the International Baccalaureate curriculum at the Middle Years Programme (MYP) level. This wide-ranging experience allows me to adapt my teaching to different educational frameworks.

In addition, I've worked as an AQA examiner for two years, where I carefully marked GCSE papers in physical, human, and physical geography. Looking ahead, I'm starting a new role in 2024 as a marker for GCSE, IGCSE, and A Level papers with Cambridge International, expanding my assessment expertise.

My teaching style is shaped by various experiences, like my commitment to service, caring for the environment, and my unique background in British Military Intelligence. These experiences not only help me support students with leadership and confidence but also instill a strong sense of discipline, guiding my unwavering commitment to excellence in education.

At the core of my approach is a focus on students. I design lessons carefully to meet the specific needs of each student, recognizing that everyone has their own way of reaching academic goals. This flexibility has been key to the success of my students.

To put this philosophy into action, I look closely at each student's strengths and weaknesses. This allows me to be an effective tutor, creating personalized plans to ensure students not only reach their goals but exceed them. By combining my diverse background with an adaptable, student-centered approach, my goal is to create a learning environment that empowers students, encourages leadership, and builds the confidence to excel.
