Tutoring Experience

I have had a range of teaching experience over the years. Most prominently relevant are the following, from which I have helped students to achieve impressive results:

- Tuition for UCAT, BMAT, Biology, Chemistry and Maths A-Level and GCSE.

- Human Embryology Supervision (2018 - ) working with first and second year medical students on a crucial aspect of their course (students have gone on to achieve 2:1 and 1st Class Honours)

-Target Oxbridge Mentoring Scheme (2019 – ) helping students from disadvantaged backgrounds hoping to attend Oxbridge for Medicine free of Charge (students have gone on to be offered places at London Universities too).

-GCSE Maths and Science (2015-2016) helping students at my school with work, free of charge (students have all gone on to achieve at least a C (5) grade and most A-A*(7-9).

Tutoring Approach

Medicine Admissions Tests (BMAT, UCAT): Use my experience of having taken these examinations and tutored previous students to help demystify the process, provide hints and tips for the exam and revision and work through questions helping students understand the way the exams can be broken down. Lessons done through online real time chat, and questions can be sent at any time via email. ‘Cheat Sheets’ with key tips can be made available.

Medical School Interviews (Cambridge, MMI, Panel): Use my experience of multiple interview formats to help people understand what sort of information is best to prepare for interview, advice on how interviews work, hints and tips for the day, and can provide mock interviews in multiple formats. In particular, mock Oxbridge Style interviews can be provided and discussion of their format and how best to prepare can be offered. A-Levels (Biology, Chemistry, Geography, Maths, EPQ): Experience of having taken these examinations and tutored previous students at a range of starting points to help provide insight into the key points to know, working through example questions, and hints and tips for preparation and on the day.
