Tutoring Experience

I am a dedicated Native English teacher and IB Teacher/Examiner for Theory of Knowledge and English B. I bring a wealth of experience in developing educational tools to inspire students towards personal and academic success. Raised in Australia, I studied Commerce before venturing into education in 2004. After earning teaching and IB certificates, I became an IB English and Theory of Knowledge teacher, later qualifying as an examiner for both subjects, a role I still actively pursue.

For the next 10 years, I continued teaching at an IB school and later transitioned to tutoring various subjects, specializing in IB preparation and college admissions essays. My passion lies in playing an effective role in students' lives, fostering inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring individuals.

With 15 years as an IB teacher, I shifted to online tutoring five years ago. My primary focus areas are English Literature, Business Management, and Theory of Knowledge, complemented by SAT and IELTS preparation. I also assist students in crafting compelling personal statements for college admissions.

Tutoring Approach

In my tutoring, I want to help students not just with school but also to become better people. I care about each student and want to be a helpful part of their learning journey. I don't just teach facts; I encourage curiosity and critical thinking. I believe it's important to go beyond memorization and help students understand how to use what they learn in real life. I want to prepare them for challenges beyond school.

I focus on creating a positive environment where students feel supported and valued. It's not just about grades – I want to help students develop skills like teamwork and resilience. I aim to build a sense of caring and understanding. In simple terms, my tutoring goes beyond regular lessons. It's about inspiring students to do well in school and also become curious, knowledgeable, and caring individuals ready for the world's challenges.
