Tutoring Experience

I truly believe that with a healthy attitude towards work, a passion for your subject, and the determination to achieve your goals, you can go so, so far!

I have led many seminars and workshops at university, explaining and teaching subject-specific topics relating to philosophy and theology to a range of people. I have also recently set up a social media account which offers 1-1 tuition in both English and Religious Studies for UK students of GCSE and A Level age. Finally, I have just completed a summer internship with Think Academy UK - a new branch of TAL International, the world’s largest education company, with whom I have designed a Y1 Mathematics summer course. I am able offer the following services:

- Admissions tuition for Oxbridge or UK Russell Group Universities; including interview preparation, admissions tests, help writing UCAS applications and SAQ test for Cambridge

- Academic tuition in A-Level English Literature, English Language, Philosophy and Ethics, and Religious Studies

- Academic tuition in GCSE English Literature, English Language, Philosophy and Ethics, Religious Studies

- Academic tuition in 11+ Mathematics, English, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning

- Mock Interview Sessions

- Training in productivity, study skills, time management and efficient working

- General Application counselling

- Essay brainstorming/reviewing with feedback

Tutoring Approach

My teaching method is broad: I strongly believe that students learn better when their brains are stimulated and their memories more receptive to retaining information. My own teaching materials are intended to be engaging, comprehensive and of the highest standard, which I feel capable of producing, handling and communicating to students. This can involve:

- Reading and Writing Tasks

- Interactive Quizzes and ‘Teach the Teacher’ sessions

- Homework Tasks

- Quotation Bingo (very useful for learning quotations for set texts!)

- Mind Mapping Sessions

I enjoy teaching and tutoring because it is so rewarding to pass on my own knowledge and skill to the younger generation. It is a privilege and honour to watch as students grasp concepts, make progress, and can go on to achieve their academic goals.
