Tutoring Experience

I have been tutoring since 2018, largely focusing on French language acquisition.

Several of my IB students have increased their expected grades from a low 4 to a high 6 in the course of their work with me.

I was also responsible for English Language support and teaching at the Belgian Teacher Training college, HéNaLLux from October 2019 to June 2020, where many of my students achieved high marks in their end-of-year exams, despite the sudden transition to online teaching midway through the academic year.

Tutoring Approach

My history tutoring largely focuses on the methodology of essay writing, as well as document analysis, which is of particular use to preparation for the Oxford History Aptitude Test.

I believe in providing students with the tools and skills necessary to succeed independently in all aspects of their studies; as such I largely work practically, using practice exercises to explore the vital skillsets of historical learning.

This approach also informs my language teaching. Working with a combination of practical exercises such as translation to improve grammar skills and linguistic comfort, and past papers in order to refine exam methodology, I aim to build students’ resources in achieving all of their academic goals.
