As a fourth-year medical student at the University of Cambridge, I have excelled academically, securing a first-class honours in my Neuroscience dissertation (BA Cantab). My proficiency in entrance exams is demonstrated by my BMAT scores of 6.1, 6.4, and 3A, and a UCAT score of 2860. Leveraging this experience, I have tutored numerous students, guiding them to achieve impressive BMAT and UCAT scores, facilitating their successful admission into medical programs. Tutoring Experience

One of my Y12 Biology students achieved an A* in her end of year exams.

I have also tutored students in preparation for their university applications to read Medicine. This involved mock interviews and support with personal statement writing. Students have went on to receive offers from several universities including, but not limited to, Cambridge, UCL and Imperial.

Tutoring Approach

Medicine Admissions Tests (BMAT, UCAT): Use my personal experience of taking these exams to demystify the process and provide hints and tips on how to tackle the different questions and methods that can be used to maximize one’s score. I will encourage thinking from first principles for suitable questions which is a technique that sets up a foundation and helps to tackle the majority of questions. I will provide ‘summary sheets’ and detailed personal feedback frequently and when necessary.

Medicine Interviews (Oxbridge, panel and MMI): Use my personal experience and the preparation I have done to provide hints and tips on how to best prepare. I will provide mock interviews where I will encourage the student to demonstrate that they possess the skills that medical schools are seeking. I will provide ‘summary sheets’ and detailed personal feedback that will be applicable for the different universities and interview styles.

A Levels (Biology and Chemistry): I will encourage understanding the content in a way that enables the student to tackle the more difficult, and increasingly common ‘application’ style questions. I will support the student in learning from first principles and will use the specification and past papers to help them to not only understand the subject, but also to help the students score highly in their exams.
