Tutoring Experience

Since 2004, I have worked with students from diverse educational backgrounds. My experience includes teaching English as a Second Language in South Korea and the Czech Republic before transitioning to international schools in Szczecin, Poland. I have extensive experience tutoring IGCSE English (CIE), where I help students refine analytical writing skills, prepare for language-based exams, and navigate literature coursework. My support also extends to guiding students in GCSE essay writing and comprehension tasks, ensuring clarity and precision in their communication. As an IB SSST tutor, I bring additional insights into comparative literature, enhancing cross-curricular understanding.

Tutoring Approach

My tutoring approach for IGCSE English begins with an assessment of each student's current abilities in language and literature. Lessons are structured to strengthen critical reading, analytical writing, and comprehension skills while addressing specific exam requirements. I use tasks aligned with IGCSE exam formats, such as past paper exercises and timed writing tasks, to build confidence and familiarity with test conditions.

During lessons, I foster an interactive environment where students actively engage with texts and ideas. Through guided questioning and collaborative analysis, I encourage students to explore themes, context, and techniques independently, developing critical thinking and autonomy in their studies.
