Tutoring Experience

I hold a BA in Education, where I developed a strong understanding of how children learn best. After university, I worked as a teaching assistant in a London prep school before transitioning into full-time tutoring. My school experience gave me first-hand insight into curriculum expectations, pastoral support, and the step-by-step progression pupils need to succeed in high-level entrance exams.

Tutoring Approach

My teaching style is centred around curiosity, independence and genuine understanding. Instead of drilling endless worksheets, I guide students to think for themselves, ask questions and make connections between topics. For Common Entrance, 11+ and the ISEB Pre-Test, I help pupils develop the habits of strong learners: planning their work, explaining their reasoning and approaching problems with confidence rather than fear.

I use a mix of short challenges, real-life examples and discussion-based learning to make lessons engaging and memorable. Every student brings a different personality and pace, so I adapt my sessions to suit how they learn best. Throughout the process, I focus on building resilience, steady progress and a sense of calm going into exams. My goal is to help students feel capable on their own, not just for entrance tests but for the years beyond them.
