Tutoring Experience

I’ve tutored A-level students online throughout the 2020-2021 academic year and gained experience in structuring my lesson to tailor the need of the students independently and help them to gain confidence, as well as working with students from the age of 12-18.

Tutoring Approach

I would go over topics, specifically those which students struggle and tailor the lesson to each student. After each topic, I will be working on the exam questions with the students together. If the student would like to have extra practices, I would be happy to give homework and review it together, to show the thinking process and tips in answering the questions. I would also have revision sessions, depending on the student needs.

To aid in the understanding, I will be preparing presentations to demonstrate the flow of events or examples associated with the knowledge. I will also provide additional materials or information if the students would like to challenge themselves.

For Maths, I believe practices are the best method to learn. I will provide examples to layout the steps and approach to different styles of questions. This will help students to clear out confusions or misunderstanding, so they can translate them into answering questions. I will also use hints to help students to work out the solution and encourage students to guide them to the correct direction.
