Tutoring Experience
My four years of teaching have involved students of different ages. I teach A-Level, GCSE and IGCSE Biology and Chemistry, GCSE and IGCSE Maths, and offer UCAT preparation. Science lessons can cover explaining processes, interpreting data and handling calculations. In Maths, we can revisit an unfamiliar method or work through exam questions. UCAT sessions centre on practising questions and reviewing how you used your time, with attention to both the answer and the route you took to it.
Tutoring Approach
Tell me which question you left blank and we'll start there. We can separate a new word from an unfamiliar concept, then decide what needs explaining. For Biology, I ask you to describe a process in order; for Chemistry and Maths, we set out the reasoning behind a calculation. Once you've tried a question, we compare your answer with the question. UCAT practice adds a timing check: did you need a shorter method, or was it a question to leave and return to? We use that to plan practice.
