Tutoring Experience

I’ve tutored for a year, originally supporting final-year IB Maths students (one achieved a 7), and now I specialise in admissions testing. Recent work includes topic-mapped study plans for MAT/STEP/TMUA, timed drills with fully worked solutions, and coaching on Oxbridge problem sheets and think-aloud interview technique. I also advise on personal statements and college choices when useful, but my core is raising test performance through precise feedback, error logs and tightly targeted homework.

Tutoring Approach

Lessons open with a concise concept refresher, then exam-style problems under light timing. We finish by extracting “rules from mistakes” and writing clean, rigorous solutions. Students receive curated past-paper sets, checkpoint quizzes and annotated model answers. I emphasise heuristics (invariants, bounding, constructive examples), clear argumentation and pacing, with weekly micro-goals and progress tracking to build confidence and exam-day fluency.
