Tutoring Experience

I’ve tutored students privately and through referrals, mainly across Maths, Chemistry, Biology and Physics. I also spent sixth-form lunchtimes helping younger pupils with GCSE Chemistry, which gave me good practice at explaining the same idea in different ways. My own grades in A-Level Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Physics plus Grade 9s in GCSE mean I know the workload well and can spot where students often lose marks in exams, especially in longer written answers.

Tutoring Approach

My lessons start with the topic the student is finding hardest that week. We go through the key idea first then build up to worked examples and exam questions once it feels secure. I keep lessons relaxed so students can stop me whenever something doesn’t click. For sciences, I focus on clear explanations and mark scheme wording; for Maths, I put attention on method, layout and avoiding common mistakes. I adjust the pace depending on whether we are revising or catching up with syllabus.
