Personally Interviewed

Our tutors go through a rigorous selection process, having been interviewed to assess their teaching skills and subject knowledge. They have extensive tutoring experience with a track record of success, helping students achieve their academic goals.

Tutoring Experience

Since 2016, I have had the privilege of teaching more than 3,000 classes, steering students towards achieving academic excellence and securing university admissions. My pedagogical approach is rooted in fostering both academic rigor and the enhancement of critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. I take great pride in playing a pivotal role in my students' success stories and make it a point to regularly refine my teaching strategies to stay in sync with the evolving standards of education.

Tutoring Approach

My teaching approach is structured and student-focused. Each lesson involves a 15-minute PowerPoint presentation on a specific topic or exam question.

This is complemented by a hands-on exercise where students have 10 minutes to respond and receive personalized feedback. We conclude with a summary of the key points discussed.

I also offer additional support to enhance learning. Students receive the PowerPoint slides for reference after each class, free of charge.

Homework is marked without extra fees, and I provide progression reports to track and organize their studies. To further develop their academic skills, I conduct vocabulary quizzes and, for literature students, include exercises in real-life literary criticism to sharpen their analytical thinking.

"...she takes the time to help you as much as she can and is always willing to help even out of lesson time if needed. I can't recommend her enough!”

Widad, previous student

"...she boosted my son's English level to as good as a native English speaker and he finally got an A* in IGCSE CIE English - First Language. My son couldn't have done it without Maria"

Daphne, parent of student from Hong Kong

"...as a homeschooled non-native speaker in English who never studied English literature and never seriously used English as an academic language before, I managed to get an A in my AS literature in English exam after approximately one year of tutorials with Maria, she being my only literature teacher"
