Tutoring Experience

I have tutored online since 2015 and have supported IB, IGCSE, AP and MYP students across Biology, Science and Maths. I am also an IBDP Biology examiner for HL Paper 2 and Internal Assessment, with IGCSE Biology examining experience. My teaching background includes IB and IGCSE Biology, IBDP coordination support and earlier work teaching Biotechnology to BSc and MSc students. This helps students get targeted feedback on exam technique, IA structure, data analysis and mark scheme use.

Tutoring Approach

I start by checking the student’s gaps, then explain the topic using diagrams, examples and short practice tasks. For IB Biology, I put a lot of focus on command terms, data-based questions and IA-style thinking, as these are often where students lose marks. For IGCSE and AP Biology, I use exam questions regularly so students can practise applying the content rather than just memorising it. I also show students how to plan longer responses, interpret graphs, and avoid common examiner traps in tests
