Tutoring Experience

I’ve been an online tutor for 2 years and have experience with over 30 IB students. My students often benefit the most by gaining a full understanding of the syllabus topics and exactly how to master writing answers tailored to the exam board expectations. This allows them to achieve high marks during their exams. 73% of students I’ve tutored have gotten a 6 or 7 on their exams or internal assessments.

Biology and Chemistry Tuition Approach

My approach to teaching Biology and Chemistry is completely tailored to the individual and their needs. I focus on working together with the student to identify their areas for improvement and we work from there.

To succeed in IB Biology, a really good understanding of the syllabus and its details are required. For this, I have slides and notes that cover everything you need to know and I explain the content in a way that aids answering exam questions. Then we can work on developing the application skills required to answer difficult questions. Throughout the whole process, we are focusing on what is expected in the exam mark schemes to help students feel more confident in scoring as many points as possible.

With Chemistry, I find it best to do more practice questions than in Biology, however this is completely dependent on the student and their progress.
