Tutoring Experience

I am fully aware that students come into psychology from a wide range of backgrounds and interests, I focus on developing the core thinking skills that will help students think critically about any field of psychology. I find particular joy in breaking down complex theories into manageable chunks, and have had continuous success using this technique to help students improve their exam-writing ability, including evaluating content. I have experience helping students achieve their highest grades in A-level and GCSE Psychology, as well as for IB extended essays. I have also had success guiding students through Oxbridge admissions, including personal statement guidance and interview practice, helping secure multiple offers for undergraduate studies at Cambridge and acceptances to UCL Psychology degrees.

Tutoring Approach

Psychology requires a balance of critical evaluation and application of knowledge across topics like cognitive, social, and biological psychology. I help students build a small but essential toolkit that can be used with any topics across A-level and IB curricula, which have helped students build confidence to assess theories critically, understand research, and articulate their ideas effectively in essays. When approached in a certain way, psychology can be incredibly creative to think and write about, and essays can be a place where a lot of unique personal arguments can be made! Lessons can be focused on reviewing and learning content and practicing exam skills, and I aim to help all students develop a lifelong interest in the wonders of the brain.
