Tutoring Experience

I have experience with condensing complex arguments and concepts in psychology into digestible chunks, emphasizing students’ individual needs and interests.

I have provided sessions on increasing subject knowledge to prepare for university applications, along with supporting A-Level exam revision, personal statement writing, and researching and writing essays submitted to competitions. I am thus able to teach psychology at any level from GCSE to undergraduate level. Alongside subject-specific tutoring, I have also tutored English to primary and secondary students.

Throughout my time tutoring, I have helped students reached finalist stage in the John Locke essay competition, gain an offer to study Law at LSE, and gain an acceptance offer to study at their school’s secondary English Programme (non-native English speaker).

Tutoring Approach

Understanding that psychology is a subject that requires an adept understanding of content from multiple perspectives, be it biological or social.

I focus on developing the ability to apply critical thinking to evaluate theories and allow students to engage more with psychological concepts, including the research behind how those concepts came to be. I envision studying psychology to be a mixture of a firm understanding of the hard laws of science, alongside developing the art of persuasion and debating often seen in the humanities.

With such a vast array of skills to be learnt, I customize lessons to suit the student’s interest, focusing on developing the relevant skills and knowledge needed for students to continue learning and understanding psychology beyond our lessons.
