Tutoring Experience

I've supported GCSE and A-Level students with Biology, Chemistry and Maths. My tutoring brings together subject explanations and help during revision, drawing on my experience of studying these subjects together. That combination matters when you're juggling content-heavy sciences with regular Maths practice. I help students work through difficult material and consider different ways of approaching questions, so revision involves using what they know as well as remembering the details.

Tutoring Approach

A flashcard, a video and a past-paper question each serve a different purpose. I use a mix, depending on what you need help with. We might watch an explanation of a process, then put the notes away and see how much you can explain yourself. Next, we try questions that ask you to use the idea in a different context. Active recall runs through this approach: checking what you can correctly retrieve, spotting what is missing and returning to it, rather than assuming familiar material is understood.
