Tutoring Experience

I have been Tutoring Mathematics for 3 years across KS3 up until GCSE Maths, GCSE further maths and Additional maths.

My students have all received grades 8-9 in GCSE maths and all 100% of students have achieved grade A in Additional maths which is the highest that can be achieved.

I have been tutoring Science for 3 years as well across KS3 to GCSE. I have taught smaller boosters classes of around 4-5 students helping them with understanding the content and preparing them to be able to take their GCSEs confidently.

100% of students have received Grades 8-9 in GCSEs and those who are in KS3 have seen predicted grades being lifted by 2 Grades.

Tutoring Approach

I have developed a collection of well-structured and effective resources that enable students to be able to grasp content in a more effective way as well as being able to apply it effectively to exam style questions.

Maths and science are both very technical subjects and doing a degree in Finance at LSE has allowed me to develop the skills I need in order to make connections between the content and application.

I also have many revision techniques that I have learnt from previous experiences that enhance memory retention and allow students to be able to grasp content if they require short-term support whereas my structure for long-term support involves assisting students to understand the content to the extent where they are able to apply concepts to a variety of questions.

It’s important to understand the technique that works best for different students. Some students excel with direct techniques such as cramming content whereas others succeed with other techniques such as spaced practice. I help students find a technique that’s more effective for the student that will enable to get the most success.
