Tutoring Experience

I commenced my teaching career in 2007 in London, guiding 11-18 year-olds in History and Politics. This role included lesson planning, report drafting, and active participation in various school events. By 2008, I transitioned to another institution where I instructed students in A-Level Politics, Economics, and World Development. Here, I also oversaw a form class and initiated a weekly debate club.

From 2010 to 2017, I expanded my teaching repertoire to include Economics, Global Perspectives, and History in an institution based in Shanghai.

In this phase of my career, I climbed the ranks to become the Head of the Economics Department, managing lesson evaluations, leading team sessions, and developing a shared resource database. During this tenure, two of my students notably achieved top accolades in national examinations. Between 2017 and 2022, I honed my specialization in GCSE and A-Level Economics, with my student group achieving a commendable 71% A grade rate.

I also took the opportunity to mentor a student through a mock interview for a prestigious university program. Since August 2022, my role has primarily centered on teaching Economics and Business Studies, with a focus on senior-level curricula, coupled with pastoral support for a dedicated class of students. Additionally, I have experience tutoring students in History and Economics at the IB Level.

Tutoring Approach

I adopt a student-centered approach in my tutoring, addressing each student's individual needs and learning styles.

While ensuring they understand the course content, I also emphasize the importance of exam techniques. By regularly practicing with past papers, students become familiar with exam formats and improve their time management and response skills, equipping them to handle any question confidently during the actual test.
