Tutoring Experience

I have taught probability and statistics for many years, supporting students with both core understanding and exam preparation. My experience includes helping learners work through statistical methods, algebra, functions and problem-solving questions, as well as improving the clarity of their written working. I’ve mainly worked with students who need patient, structured support to strengthen their confidence in GCSE and A-Level Maths. I also help students refine timing, accuracy and exam technique.

Tutoring Approach

I usually begin by identifying exactly where a student is getting stuck, then build from there using worked examples, guided practice and exam-style questions. For GCSE students, I focus on accuracy, method and avoiding common mistakes. For A-Level students, I place more emphasis on reasoning, notation and applying techniques to unfamiliar questions, especially in statistics and pure maths. I also encourage students to explain their reasoning, so gaps are easier to spot and fix before assessments.
