Qualified Online Teacher | Examiner | MA Mathematics

I’m a qualified Maths teacher and IB Maths AA examiner with over 16 years of teaching experience and an MA in Mathematics. I teach IB Maths AA and AI at SL and HL, A-Level Maths and SAT Maths. Alongside my work at an IB World School, I tutor online, using live graphs and shared whiteboards to explain the ideas behind a method and help students apply them in exam questions.

Personally Interviewed

Our tutors go through a rigorous selection process, having been interviewed to assess their teaching skills and subject knowledge. They have extensive tutoring experience with a track record of success, helping students achieve their academic goals.

Tutoring Experience

My experience includes classroom teaching and online tuition in IB Maths AA and AI at both SL and HL levels, MYP, IGCSE and International A-Level Maths. I have also taught foundation year mathematics and prepared students for SAT Maths. As an IB Maths AA examiner and practising school teacher, I bring both teaching and assessment experience to lessons. I work with international students and can explain mathematical terminology in English, Russian, Kazakh or Turkish when language gets in the way.

Tutoring Approach

A graph can often explain an idea more clearly than a page of algebra. I use interactive whiteboards and graphing software to make calculus, statistics and algebra easier to understand, with students working through questions during the lesson. We connect what appears on screen to the calculations, notation and reasoning needed in an exam answer. For SAT Maths, I focus on question strategies as well as the content. If terminology is causing confusion, I can explain it in another shared language.
