I am an enthusiastic teacher with many years of teaching experience, both in schools and giving private lessons. I was born in Germany, attended the International School of Lausanne. I studied law at the University of Geneva, and then University College London. I specialise in helping IGCSE/GCSE, A-Level and International Baccalaureate students with Mathematics, Spanish, French and German and I am also a certified and experienced SAT/ACT Tutor.

Tutoring Experience

I have many years of teaching experience, both in schools and giving private lessons, under my belt. In schools I have primarily taught English and Math (at English speaking schools) at middle and high school level, but have also taught at German-, Spanish and French-speaking schools in these respective languages. I have previously also taught at primary/elementary schools.

I have two years experience working as an SSAT/SAT/ACT tutor for both the English and Math components and been very successful at helping gifted students excel in these tests and helping students with difficulties in these areas grapple with them.

Tutoring Approach

I believe my experience as an educator at all age levels gives me an advantage over more “specialized” teachers because I am quickly able to recognize and work on correcting difficulties that occurred at earlier stages of learning. This is a particular asset in Maths where difficulties in properly understanding concepts such as fractions and equations make life very difficult later on.

I am an enthusiastic teacher and I understand that motivating my students is paramount in creating an effective learning environment. I like to be honest and pragmatic with my students. Admissions tests are (arguably) a necessary evil and I discourage my students from taking them to be an accurate reflection of their full potential.
