I am a fully qualified English secondary school teacher with 14 years of experience of teaching in a wide range of settings. I have taught the full ability range, from KS2/ upper primary up to A level English Literature, with a specialist focus on GCSE English. I am currently an examiner for AQA English Language, so have exemplary understanding of the exam systems, and pride myself on delivering exceptional results and enabling learners to overcome any barrier in their path.

Tutoring Experience

I have a 2:1 degree in Medieval Studies (English and History) from the prestigious University of Manchester which is where I completed my teacher training.

I also have 10 years experience teaching English in mainstream secondary schools in Manchester from 2007 – 2018 including St Peters RC High, The East Manchester Academy, Falinge Park High and Failsworth High in addition to post 16 experience at Tameside College.

Since 2018, I have taught in specialist alternative provision schools for learners with a range of social, emotional, and mental health needs in addition to a range of special educational needs.

I would ensure that objectives are clear and deliver highly bespoke, personalised sessions carefully tailored to suit the learning needs and interests of the individual with clear outcomes.

Through providing stimulating, engaging material and modelling responses I ensure that learners not only develop their knowledge, skills and understanding, but have an enjoyable, rewarding experience whilst doing so.
