I am currently pursuing my studies in Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College London. I hold a firm belief that an effective learning system is rooted in a robust foundation coupled with a genuine passion for the subject. Additionally, I adopt a friendly approach towards my students, treating them as peers, underpinned by my conviction that we can mutually enrich our knowledge and perspectives through shared learning experiences.

Tutoring Experience

During the summer of my first year in University, I freelance tutored GCSE students around my neighbourhood in Malaysia.

Through those three months, I managed to not just assisted some of my tutees in gaining As and A*s in Additional Maths and Physics, but also formed deep friendships with them too.

Throughout my second and third year in University, I have been freelance tutoring around London. My students range from Year 6 all the way to Year 12. I have assisted students in achieving A* in Maths for their end of the year school examinations too.

Besides that, I also work closely with Imperial STEM Ambassador, tutoring Year 12/13 kids on Maths and Physics, to prepare them for their A-Levels.

At the same time, I have learned to be patient and accommodating with my students who are struggling during the pandemic, and to act as a mentor guiding them through their University applications as well.

Tutoring Approach

I love to take my time understanding the particular areas and elements that a student is struggling on.

From there, I would break down the problem to ensure that my tutees understand the foundation of each topic before building up to more challenging and thought-provoking questions.

I believe that with a strong foundation, it will assist students a lot in gaining passion and also understanding subsequent material.

For students who are more confident in their studies, I also organize crash courses alongside questions which requires understanding of a few topics together to be able to solve them.
