Tutoring Experience

I’ve tutored for four years across A-Level Philosophy, Oxbridge applications, interviews, personal statements and admissions-style reasoning. I have also taught English as a foreign language and Philosophy beyond the standard syllabus, including with Footprints Oxford. Most of my work has involved helping students improve essay structure, sharpen arguments, read questions carefully and practise explaining ideas clearly in interviews or timed admissions tasks. This includes focused test practice.

Tutoring Approach

My lessons are shaped around the student’s main goal, whether that is improving A-Level Philosophy essays, preparing for an Oxbridge interview or working on TARA. I focus on the skills that actually get assessed: clear argument, careful reading, critical thinking, problem solving and written reasoning. For admissions preparation, I use realistic practice, timed tasks and direct feedback so students can see what needs improving and how to fix it. I also adapt pace and task choice to each student.
