Tutoring Experience

I have taught GCSE Maths and A-Level Maths in both school-based and professional tutoring settings, supporting students with core topics, exam questions and problem-solving. I also tutor A-Level Further Maths, where I work on more advanced algebra, calculus and multi-step questions. For TMUA and STEP, I help students develop the flexible reasoning needed for unfamiliar problems, using challenging questions to strengthen method selection, accuracy and mathematical independence.

Tutoring Approach

I usually start with a selection of questions to see where the student is secure and where their reasoning begins to break down. In GCSE and A-Level Maths, I explain the concept behind each method before moving to independent exam practice. Further Maths lessons place more emphasis on linking topics and handling longer problems. For TMUA and STEP, I encourage students to test different approaches and persevere with difficult questions, giving targeted hints rather than taking over the solution.
