Tutoring Experience

I have taught Maths to IGCSE and A-Level students, including Further Maths, through small-group tutoring at secondary school. I have worked with pupils at different starting points, answering questions individually while keeping the whole group involved. I have also tutored Geography, which strengthened my ability to explain ideas clearly and adjust lessons for different learners. My experience includes topic revision, problem-solving and preparation for assessments and final exams. I set practice tasks too.

Tutoring Approach

My lessons are built around practice, particularly for Maths. I first work through a problem with the student, explaining each stage and why the method works. We then try similar questions together before the student attempts them independently, with support where needed. I use mistakes to identify gaps rather than simply correcting the final answer. As exams approach, I include timed and mixed-topic questions so students become comfortable choosing the right method for themselves. I revisit any weak areas.
