Tutoring Experience

Whilst at School, I was a Maths ambassador which involved running clinics for any students taking GCSE or A level examinations in Mathematics. Before beginning university I volunteered abroad which involved teaching younger students and aided my experience with finding new ways to approach familiar concepts.

I also tutored an A level student privately and she improved by two grades during the time I was tutoring her up to her required grade for Mathematics in order to fulfill her university offer.

Tutoring Approach

I like to remain relatable to my students, and focus on understanding concepts rather than learning methods as this has proven to be much more effective in my experience and students are more likely to remember how to approach problems this way.

I usually like to initially work through questions with students in order to understand where problems may form, and then introduce more examples if there is an issue with a particular idea. I aim to keep sessions relaxed and to create an environment where questions are encouraged, as this helps me to know which concepts may need to be revisited.
