Oxford University - Master's Degree in Physics

I am currently in my third year studying Physics at the University of Oxford. Over the past two years, I have dedicated myself to tutoring students preparing for the Physics Aptitude Test (PAT), as well as helping with A-level Maths and Physics. Additionally, I have assisted students in preparing for other challenging mathematical entrance exams such as the Test of Mathematics for University Admission (TMUA). My tutoring approach focuses on clarity, understanding complex concepts, and applying theoretical knowledge to practical problem-solving scenarios, ensuring my students are well-prepared and confident for their exams.

Our tutors go through a rigorous selection process, having been interviewed to assess their teaching skills and subject knowledge. They have extensive tutoring experience with a track record of success, helping students achieve their academic goals.

Tutoring Experience

I have accumulated two years of tutoring experience, primarily focusing on preparing candidates for the Oxford Physics Aptitude Test (PAT) and A-level Maths/Physics examinations. Additionally, I have tutored students for other rigorous entrance exams such as the Test of Mathematics for University Admission (TMUA), Natural Sciences Admissions Assessment (NSAA), and Engineering Admissions Assessment (ENGAA).

During the 2023 admissions cycle, I conducted mock Oxbridge interviews for physics and maths applicants. These sessions included original problems I devised to simulate the style and difficulty of real interviews. One of my students successfully secured a place to study Physics at Oxford University as a result of this preparation.

Furthermore, as part of my undergraduate degree, I undertook a role as a temporary teaching assistant at a secondary school in Oxfordshire. In this capacity, I taught Physics to students across Year 7 to Year 13, gaining valuable classroom teaching experience alongside my tutoring commitments.

Tutoring Approach

As a dedicated tutor, I prioritize establishing a strong rapport with students to understand their learning styles, strengths, and weaknesses. Beyond academic support, I mentor them throughout the academic year and guide them through the UCAS application process, ensuring they feel confident and prepared. I tailor my approach to help students excel in exams like the Oxford Physics Aptitude Test (PAT), A-level Maths and Physics, and other challenging entrance tests such as TMUA, NSAA, and ENGAA.

My goal is to create stimulating and enjoyable learning experiences that foster critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a passion for physics and mathematics. Using interactive discussions, practical examples, and personalized feedback, I aim to make learning engaging and rewarding for every student. Drawing from my experience as a teaching assistant at an Oxfordshire secondary school, I bring tested methods and insights to my tutoring, supporting students comprehensively in their academic journey towards achieving their full potential.
