Tutoring Experience

I have taught and tutored A level politics for 14 years – all three exam boards and all units. I have taught IB Global Politics and GCSE, IGCSE and A level history, also since 2008 in a range of schools in both the UK and internationally, as well as providing tutoring to private candidates.

I have extensive experience with Cambridge, Pearson and AQA history and can help you really develop your ability to think and write as a historian and to excel in examinations.

Tutoring Approach

I start by understanding and listening – finding out what your goals are and what you want to achieve. We then work together to really understand how to improve and how to unlock your full potential.

We will talk through a topic together and I will give you some key pointers for how to improve and how to get top marks. You will then do some structured practice work before the next class and we will go over the material together again, reviewing where and how you can improve. One of my key priorities as a tutor will always be to see how I can support and complement what you are doing in school (if you also study in a school), so that we improve what you are already doing, rather than creating additional work and conflicts.

I believe I am open and engaging and easy to discuss and talk to. Each class is tailored specifically to your needs and part of a bigger study plan which we agree to, help you achieve your goals.
