Tutoring Experience

Since 2020 I have tutored ESAT candidates online and in person, delivering one-to-one programmes and small-group masterclasses on every paper. I have guided roughly thirty applicants, refining their algebra, mechanics and reasoning under timed conditions and running over fifty mock tests with analytical feedback. Many went on to Engineering courses at Cambridge or Oxford. I also lead weekend problem-solving bootcamps for charities, mentoring widening-participation students. My sessions incorporate digital whiteboards, live polling and bespoke homework sets to track progress precisely.

Tutoring Approach

Each lesson begins with a diagnostic warm-up to identify misconceptions. I break challenging problems into clear stages, model efficient methods, then ask students to teach back to cement understanding. Timed drills, spaced review and exam-style checkpoints embed fluency, while detailed feedback notes outline next steps. For ESAT we focus on translating worded scenarios into equations, tackling unfamiliar contexts, and building mental agility so students sit the test calm, quick and confident.
