Tutoring Experience

Since March 2022 I’ve delivered over 1,000 hours of STEP preparation in one-to-one lessons and small groups. Sessions revolve around past-paper walkthroughs, deconstructing mark schemes and modelling high-quality write-ups. I’ve supported ambitious applicants across a range of schools, from first principles to Olympiad-level enrichment. As a current STEP examiner (II & III), I bring real insight into how scripts are read, common pitfalls, and what earns marks, helping students convert ideas into polished, credit-worthy solutions. We set targeted homework and review weekly progress.

Tutoring Approach

I focus exclusively on STEP. We start with a diagnostic to target gaps, then build technique through curated past-paper sets, timed drills and structured write-ups. I teach heuristics (invariants, substitutions, bounding, constructive proofs), emphasise clarity of argument, and train efficient annotation to manage time under pressure. Regular feedback loops and progress tracking ensure steady gains, culminating in confident, examiner-friendly solutions on Papers II and III.
