Tutoring Experience

I have experience tutoring GCSE, IGCSE and A-Level learners in Biology and Chemistry, helping them work through syllabus content, homework and exam-style questions. My academic background covers biology, chemistry, medical biochemistry and additional maths, which is useful for topics such as enzymes, genetics, cells, bonding and calculations. I support a patient and adaptable teaching style while tailoring explanations to each student’s level, pace and exam needs, especially before exams.

Tutoring Approach

I usually follow the student’s exam board specification closely and check understanding before moving on to the next topic. I explain ideas in my own words rather than just reading from a textbook, then use short questions, diagrams and exam-style practice to test what has stuck. For Biology, I focus on key terms and processes; for Chemistry, I spend time on calculations, bonding and practical-style questions. I also revisit weaker topics regularly so knowledge is not forgotten before exams.
