Tutoring Experience

I have mentored PPE applicants through admissions-test prep, application writing and Oxbridge-style interviews, including support at my sixth form. My earlier TSA work now informs TARA preparation, particularly critical thinking, problem solving, proof and timing skills. I have also led revision sessions for students with different learning needs, teaching me to adapt explanations well. My Oxford PPE background helps me give realistic practice for academic interviews and tutorial discussion.

Tutoring Approach

My sessions are discussion-led and make students think aloud. For TARA, we work on critical reasoning, problem solving, written argument and timing, using questions to show why an answer works rather than memorising tricks. PPE interview practice is closer to an Oxford tutorial: I introduce an unfamiliar idea, challenge the student’s reasoning, test how they defend it and follow up on their response. I also bring in philosophy, politics or economics concepts where they strengthen discussion.
