This not only worsens their own health condition but also increases the risk of transmitting the infection to others. Moreover, the fear of stigma can prevent people from getting tested for STIs, which can lead to undiagnosed and untreated infections.

Asymptomatic infections pose another major challenge in controlling the spread of STIs.
