How does air pollution affect ecosystems?

This not only affects the individual plant but can also impact the entire food chain. Photosynthesis is the process by which green plants and some other organisms use sunlight to synthesise foods with the help of chlorophyll pigments. This can lead to toxic levels of these substances in animals, particularly those at the top of the food chain, causing disease and death.
