Tutoring Experience

I have taught students aged 14–18 through hundreds of hours of one-to-one Maths and Physics tuition, both online and in person. My experience covers A-Level Maths, Further Maths and Physics, as well as IB Maths AA/AI and Physics at SL and HL. I also support ESAT preparation, drawing on my Oxford Physics background to work through challenging Maths and Physics problems. Beyond tutoring, I have given school talks explaining university-level Physics and my Master’s project.

Tutoring Approach

I like to strip difficult Maths and Physics problems back to the ideas underneath them. We first make sure the fundamentals are secure, then build towards harder A-Level, IB and ESAT questions one step at a time. I encourage students to break unfamiliar problems into smaller parts, decide what information matters and explain their reasoning as they work. For admissions preparation, I also use challenging problems to develop mathematical fluency and physical intuition under time pressure.
