However, the molecular geometry is bent or V-shaped, as it only considers the two bonding pairs of electrons.

The presence of lone pairs can cause the molecule to be polar, even if the molecular geometry might suggest otherwise. For instance, although the molecular geometry of carbon dioxide (CO2) is linear, making it a non-polar molecule, the presence of lone pairs on the oxygen atoms actually makes it a polar molecule.
